Senior staff at the United Nations Development Programme approached Ms. Lubna Choudhury, a distinguished English literature educator in Dhaka, to establish a rigorous school for their children. Driven by her vision that Bangladeshi youth also deserved access to world-class education to transform their nation and beyond, Ms. Choudhury founded BIT as the country's first English-medium institution to welcome both local and international students.
BIT caters to students from Pre-Play through A Levels, following the UK-based Edexcel IGCSE & IAL curriculum, which provides students with an internationally recognized education. BIT's commitment to excellence is reflected in our world-class faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and rigorous curriculum.
Our commitment to a holistic education is evident in the vast array of sports, arts, literature, cultural and current affairs activities that we offer. We also pride ourselves on our commitment to international languages, teaching all students English and Bengali, while also offering French and Mandarin courses.
BIT's comprehensive approach to education is fostered within a 17-bigha (10.5 acre) campus in Uttara and additional campuses in Gulshan. Safety and security of the children remain our highest priorities as we have a large Ansar personnel team and extensive CCTV coverage.
Continuing the legacy of our founder, Ms. Lubna Choudhury, BIT is led by her daughters, Ms. Anika Rahman (BA from Princeton University and Juris Doctor from Columbia University) and Ms. Talita Choudhury (BA from Mount Holyoke College and MA in Education from The City College of New York). We remain a family-run institution passionately focused on educating our children to become good human beings.
